Are you the Backend Developer who wants to design our systems and help our users become amazing in recruitment? We’re a VC-backed pre-seed startup and are looking for our first developer to join the ride and tackle the problems of traditional job interviews together with our team.

What is Hireproof?

Job interviewing is difficult, takes a lot of time, often leads to biased decisions, and most people - even professional recruiters - find it challenging. We offer a reliable, simple, and fun way to manage and conduct job interviews, packaged in a B2B SaaS solution.

We’re still in the early stages, currently testing our MVP with beta users, building and iterating on our core offering, and working towards our “first sellable product”. We’re supported by a well-respected European VC fund, have a strongly validated value proposition, a generous runway, and a resolute drive to start scaling our product, team, and business.

Currently, we’re a team of 3 co-founders, and we expect the team to grow to 4-6 people within 6 months. We’re a mix of industry experience, product, technology expertise, business savvy, and startup experience. We’re a collaborative, eager, experienced, and fun-to-work-with team (if we may say so ourselves) and we’re there to support you every step of the way. Who are you?

• You have at least three years of professional software development experience
• You prefer software to be designed purely functional and you know a functional language by heart (we are using Scala with 😸)
• You are experienced working with modern infrastructure and tools
• You are comfortable running your software in Linux environments
• You know and care about good engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming and automated testing
• You have good understanding of data structures and algorithms, and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions

Your job as a Backend Developer

• You will be a core contributor to the backend system
• You will build and operate infrastructure, toolset and deployment pipelines
• You will be involved in the design decisions of the software
• You will have significant impact on the further direction and shape of the project
